Spoiler alert: We’re not crying, *you’re* crying. (Okay, maybe both.)
Today, we’re raising a (metaphorical) glass to one of our team members hitting their 1-year anniversary with U4EA Farms—and wow, what a year it’s been.
There have already been a few workiversaries to celebrate this year, but this one hit me right in the feels. I’m talking full montage-worthy emotions. Let me try to explain…
One year ago, we weren’t even in the market yet—we were prepping for our very first harvest, full of dreams, spreadsheets, and a *very* long to-do list. Fast forward to today: we’re out there, in the market, making moves and (let’s be real) learning a lot the hard way. “Fail fast and move forward” isn’t just a motto, it’s basically our internal soundtrack. And we’ve been dancing to it in work boots and hoodies ever since.
Getting U4EA Farms off the ground has been one of the most intense, challenging, occasionally sleepless, and undeniably rewarding experiences of my life. We’ve bootstrapped, brainstormed, pivoted, patched, and powered through more plot twists than a Netflix series. In an economy doing cartwheels and an industry reinventing itself every other Tuesday, staying agile isn’t a buzzword for us—it’s survival.
But here’s what keeps me going: our team. Every single person here shows up, cares deeply, and has each other’s backs. That kind of culture doesn’t happen by accident. It’s been built—through hard conversations, shared goals, a few caffeine-fueled debates, and a whole lot of grit. Communication is key (and sometimes messy), but we’re doing the work. And I couldn’t be prouder of this group—or of myself and my partner for getting it off the ground.
Also? Major love to my family—especially the kids—who’ve been patient, supportive, and quietly heroic in the background. They’ve endured dinner-table business strategy sessions and late-night “just one more email” moments. Starting a business during economic chaos isn’t exactly family-friendly, but we’ve weathered the storm together. And we’re still standing (possibly sleep-deprived, but standing!).
So today, as we celebrate this incredible teammate’s leap of faith one year ago, I’m reminded: this journey is full of twists and turns—but it’s who you travel with that makes all the difference. Every person on this team brings something unique, something powerful, and something essential.
To our crew: Thank you for believing in the vision, for rolling up your sleeves, and for laughing through the chaos.
To our families and friends: Thank you for loving us through the hustle.
And to our customers: Thank you for taking a chance on us, for trying our products, for your feedback, your patience, and your belief in what we’re building. Your support means more than you know, and we’re growing every day because of you.
Here’s to one year down—and a future as bright as our flower rooms.
— With gratitude and probably too much caffeine,
